My name is Kelsy Cowan; artist, cosplayer, gamer, and all around nerdy person! I was born and raised on the Jersey Shore in a town called Brick. Ever since I was a little girl, I always dreamed of elves, dragons, and adventures. I was a bit of a storyteller, and my favorite way to do so was through my drawings. When I graduated high school and started my very own adventure, I knew I wanted to draw and create art and my own stories for the world to see.
I spent a few years working before fully pursuing my dream. My family is full of artists and musicians, so when I had to courage to tell them what I wanted to do with my life, I did not know what to expect from them. To my surprise, they were very supportive, my mother even answered with “Well, it’s about time.” With their help, love, and support. I put together a portfolio and sent it to The Kubert School for a review, and I was accepted.
I spent three years at The Kubert School, pushing past my limit and discovering things about my art that I could possibly imagine, and I am pleased to tell you that as of May 2017, I am a Kubert School alumni!
